Symptom

From some e-mail addresses you always want to receive mails, even if the spam filter considers them spam.

Solution

To allow a sender you can add the sender’s e-mail address to the white list of your spam filter. All addresses listed on the white list will pass the spam filter and mails from these addresses will be forwarded to your mailbox. You can use wildcards like “?” (for single characters) and “*” (for multiple characters). Examples:

friendly-sender-1@dominio-amistoso.com
(lets this single address pass the filter)

friendly-sender-?@dominio-amistoso.com
(lets friendly-sender-1, friendly-sender-2, friendly-sender-n … pass the filter)

friendly-*@dominio-amistoso.com
(lets all senders from “dominio-amistoso.com” that use an address starting with “friendly-“ pass the filter)

*@friendly-*.com
(lets all senders from domains starting with “friendly-“ and ending on “.com” pass the filter)

*@domain.com
(lets all senders from the “domain.com” domain pass the filter)

The white list can be configured in your spam filter settings:

1) Log-in to your web space control panel.

2) Click on the Tab “E-mail”.

3) Click on the e-mail address whose spam filter you want to edit.

4) Click on the “Spam filter” tab.

5) If the spam filter has not yet been activated, activate it by checking the “Switch on spam filtering” checkbox. If the spam filter was not activated, you won’t need a white list anyway, because in that case all incoming mail is passing through to your mailbox without being filtered.

6) Click the “Show Advanced Settings” link.

7) Enter the addresses that shall always pass the spam filter into the white list input box.

8) Click the “OK” button.
